Brideau, Logan Christopher
With the deepest of sorrow, we announce that Logan Christopher Brideau, age 20, a beloved son, brother, and family member, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 4, 2024.
Logan will be greatly missed by his mother and father, Mary Jo & Tim. His two brothers, Zachary and Nathan. His many aunts, uncles, cousins, boyfriend Noah, godmother Tracy, and many, many friends.
There is little doubt that Logan is now spending his days with his dog Charlie, as well as lighting the lives and hearts of his late grandparents and cousin Meagan. Performing his songs for them, dancing his heart out, and sharing his joy with all.
Although Logan had just turned 20 years of age, he affected so many people in so many positive ways. His accomplishments were more than most would achieve in a full lifetime.
From his time performing with Drayton Entertainment in their productions of Wizard of Oz, The Music Man, Anne of Green Gables, Fame Jr., and Legally Blonde Jr. To becoming a professional performer in The Marathon of Hope: The Musical and in the Stratford Festival’s The Music Man in 2018, where he was also the recipient of a coveted Guthrie Award.
Our little Logie Bear was born with the arts, theatrics, and performance in his soul. Creating his own stunningly detailed costumes for Halloween and being an often-requested performer at Bingeman’s ScreamPark, particularly as Bozo the Clown. It was an annual ritual that started long before the date actually arrived.
He was a part of the Polar Express production in St. Jacobs, as the ‘Know-It-All’ character, and performed the role of ‘Jo-Jo’ in KWMP’s Seussical. In 2019, Logan placed 1st in the Male Solo category, as well as 1st in the Musical Theatre Duet category in the Kiwanis Music Festival with one of his best friends as his partner.
A significant part of Logan’s extracurricular activities came during his time with KW Glee as part of their junior and senior programs. The relationships he made, the impact others had on him and he in turn on them, carried on with him for the remainder of his life. Even after he had finished his journey with Glee, he continued to return to performances to cheer on and support those that remained a part of it.
During Covid, Logan’s focus shifted slightly. At the age of only 15 years, he started «Logan’s Harvest», his very own microgreens company. Often selling out quickly at local markets and independent grocery stores.
Then, our ever-thoughtful Logan decided he wanted to do something extra special for his friends who were stuck at home with no activities to do. He spent countless hours creating a virtual escape room where he was your host and guide via Zoom. He developed a complex storyline and a series of intricately designed puzzles that needed to be solved in order, for the story itself to be completed. He gained recognition for his efforts not only from those who participated during scheduled times but also through local media which featured his project to the public.
This was when Logan really got the bug for engineering. Figuring out how things worked and how to make things work, often MacGyvering projects of his imagination seemingly out of nothing.
During his time working at KW Escape Rooms, he met a gentleman named James Hobson who came in during one of his shifts with a group of his co-workers. That evening, Logan couldn’t stop talking about his encounter with the man well-known in social media channels as «The Hacksmith».
Logan now had but one mission: to finish out high school with a co-op term working at Hacksmith Industries. A mission that was ambitious, to say the least, as co-op terms at Hacksmith are normally the realm of university-educated engineering students. Not high school teenagers.
Logan, being Logan, of course, accomplished his goal. And then some. Not only was he accepted for his coveted co-op term, but he was then subsequently hired and became a full-time Engineering Designer. He was now able to bring all of his life’s passions for art, theatre, performing, and engineering together.
He worked on the creation and fabrication of some of the most amazing and fantastical things, straight from the pages of Batman, Star Wars, Fall Out, Thor, and many, many more.
He was instrumental in the development of a prosthetic hand for a young boy in the UK, simply so he could play his favourite online game. Logan worked on his very own signature project that was centred around Nintendo’s «Legend of Zelda» video game, which now has over 1 million views on YouTube.
Logan appeared in countless cameos during other social media broadcasts for Hacksmith Industries online, and as a result, he was often approached for autographs at events and shows that he attended.
He was the truest of friends to those who needed him. He was dedicated, loving, and caring, and always put the needs of others ahead of his own. Logan was one of those brightest of lights. Which has gone out way too soon. He will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he has touched, even in the smallest of ways.
A Celebration of Logan’s Life will be held from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2024 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (519) 749-8467.
