Nintendo is once again teaming up with Baskin Robbins in Japan to offer a lineup of ice cream. The campaign kicks off on Friday, June 28 and will run until Wednesday, July 31. While most of the what’s on offer features general Super Mario Bros. character art, a few items are tied to Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD. You can find everything that will be on offer below.
Super Star Double Grape Flavor
A brand new flavor has been created just for this Super Mario Bros. campaign. Based around the concept of the Super Star, the company aimed for a cute looking flavor the also featured star shaped candy as a highlight. The flavor combines a mix of grape sorbet, muscat grape sorbet and milk and is sure to be enjoyed by people of all ages. On top of this new flavor, the Super Kinoko (Mushroom) Cola Float flavor from last year’s campaign will be making a return. This flavor is a combination of cola sherbet and vanilla ice cream with white pop rocks thrown into the mix. You can see both flavors below.
Super Mario Double Cup
Special double scoop cups containing any flavor will be available in three Super Mario Bros. designs simply dubbed as “Red,” “Yellow” and “White.” Depending on the location, customers may or may not be able to choose their cup. A Small Double Cup runs ¥510 while a Regular Double Cup costs ¥760. You can see the cup colors below.
In addition, those that purchase one of the Super Mario Double Cups will receive a special Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD mini-folder. One will be gifted with each cup and are only available while supplies last.
Super Mario Sundae
Another returning item from the 2023 campaign, the Super Mario Sundae is back, this time in two sizes - Single and Double. This comes with a scoop (or scoops) of your choice with whipped cream, a character pick and a plastic warp pipe themed cup. Baskin Robbins and Nintendo encourage fans to use the cup after they finish their ice cream as it can be used for pens, pencils or other small items. The Single size costs ¥790 while the Double runs ¥1,380.
Wonder Flower Crush Soda
Another new entry to the menu, the Wonder Flower Crush Soda is a carbonated beverage grape and soda flavored syrups on top of crushed ice. The flavors change once mixed into ramune at the bottom of the drink and the pop rocks add a fun sound. Customers can choose one scoop with the drink. This one retails for ¥750.
Question Block Ice Cream Set
This special themed set comes with eight flavors of your choosing available in either Small or Regular. Not only this, but customers will also receive a special question block picnic sheet (120 x 120 cm). The Small set costs ¥2,880 while the Regular runs ¥3,580.
Super Mario Variety Box
Just as with last year, several variety boxes are also on offer in a four pack, six pack, eight pack or twelve pack. Each cup inside can be filled with either a Small or Regular scoop of your choosing. Prices range from ¥1,280 (Small, 4-Pack) to ¥4,200 (Regular, 12-Pack). You can see some images of the boxes below.
Super Mario Plate 6
Another item returning from 2023, this ice cream cake is full of different flavors and Mario decorations. New this year are the additions of Toad, Peach and Daisy picks to go alongside Mario, Luigi and Yoshi. The cake measures 16 x 5 cm and runs ¥4,000 each.
Luigi’s Mansion Themed Cake
A special cake in celebration of the release of Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, this allows up to six flavors and decorations of your choosing. The box is a recreation from the game and comes with Luigi special picks, Boo chocolate and glow in the dark stickers. This cake measures 14 x 4.5 cm and sells for ¥4,800.
GPS Check-In
Using the GPS Check-in function on the My Nintendo app (Japan accounts only), fans will be able to receive one of four Super Mario power-up themed physical stickers. These will be given out at random and are only available to customers once per day per check-in. The stickers will come on a first-come-first-served basis.
